I just got my new issue of OfficePro (the IAAP magazine for office professionals) and it was a great read on the bus the last few mornings. There was also an interesting editorial called The Social Side of Business which looks at nurturing business relationships and an article called The Performance Review: An Opportunity in Disguise.

Always proofread a document prior to sending it, good proofreading includes printing the document for review. Utilize spell check and review the document for grammar errors. Take a business writing class or ask a colleague to review your writing before you make it public. Get involved.

I arrange quite a few events and have realized the importance of reading and reviewing the contracts carefully, highlighting key dates. When I reviewed the invoice I noticed there was a guest on our bill who wasnt in our party so that amount got taken off. Once the invoice arrives you should check to make sure everything is accurate.

Check with your boss and if agreed, unsubscribe from any unnecessary e-mails that may be cluttering their Inbox or create subfolders and drag and drop these e-mails there for your boss to check when he or she has the time to review them. Your role may be just to unclutter their Inbox so they can better manage the important items.
