Having the opportunity to hash it out with another assistant is a great resource. I can tell you my friends and colleagues got a lot of phone calls in those early days and it was a wonderful resource and help to me. IAAP is a group of assistants who get together and encourage each other in our jobs and careers.

We list country codes, city codes, international and national dialing codes, and other relevant country information. Too much information. Excellent material!

They are a valuable resource and I appreciate them. Like you, I list the new assistant as not only a contact but a definite resource for future references. If it is a planned time off then you can meet with your buddy and give them any instructions or information they will need to handle in your absence and any contact names and numbers. I like to have a contact card with my buddys general information in it such as log ins and passwords as appropriate. Too much information.
