I went to NYC for a job interview - traveled 4 hours from DC and the hiring manager made me wait half an hour, didn't even offer me a water or coffee. I always hear that temp work is a good way to get experience, but wonder if HR ever cares about it. Now, I think its time I gave some pointers to interviewers.

I was stressed out from the pace of work and also the length of a couple of special projects with a long lead time. We also get a mini break when our boss is traveling as the stress level is generally lower and we can catch up on our workload. A week or two ago, it was one of those weeks where my brain just felt tired.

I was hoping that you might have insight/advice on how to create project work/better assist a C-Level exec that has never had an admin before. You answer the phone, book travel, offer beverages to guests, book meetings, prepare the conference room, order food, etc. If you are out sick, a temp will have to sub for you.

It’s like stage stress, before walking up on a TV show or a big opening act. I wouldn’t know how to do that! I understand how you could do this if you were a plumber or something (pretty hard to unclog a toilet in Canada when the plumber lives in India), but I’m not sure how to do it as a songwriter.
