Always buy the most expensive health insurance you can afford. You should have 3 savings accounts - retirement, rainy day, and emergency. Retirement is your 401k, CDs, cash, etc. Emergency funds are for when you lose your job, want to switch jobs, have to buy a car, unforeseen medical bills, or anything urgent that you need.

4) The previous assistant does not want to lose any important benefits/tenure/seniority at the previous company whether they be retirement savings, vacation accrual rate, or misc perks they would lose. Don’t automatically assume because the package looks good or the job sounds great on paper you will like it. Who knows?!
On The Job

Though the job market now is bad, it's been bad for years now. And due to outsourcing, Boomers not retiring, and Gen Yers being told (by older generations mind you) to get degrees in their "passion" or that "any degree" is a path to success.you end up with a lot of overworked, underpaid 20somethings.

I knew I didn’t want to job hunt for more than 6-9 months if I didn’t have to. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. So I read a lot about happiness, job hunting, and a meaningful life. I’m not sure how your job hunting experience was.
