In the workplace we often form friendships -- some of them very close -- and as a result we share details of our lives. But those are details you may not want to share with the woman down the hall because a) she's a terrible gossip and b) you don't know her well enough to share that information. I knew I wasn’t spend a ridiculous amount of time on Twitter, Facebook, et al…but I knew I was spending too much time on those platforms without having much of my own stuff to share. for the gaming, I use them as a form of decompression but I tend to play games that have an earlier ending than most (sports games, WWE 13, etc.).

You may think Twitter is only for posting what you had for lunch or Facebook is only for showing funny photos for your friends. You can’t post drunken photos of yourself on Facebook or have a screen saver at work that is offensive and then expect employers or colleagues to see you professionally. Don’t gossip at work.
