That’s a crappy example, but you get the point. It demonstrates self-confidence. I like your before/after examples that light up the point. If I ever have to use an example of stupidity in my copy, that stupidity has to be on my part. Whereas, when you firmly promote your knowledge, you exude confidence.

Take this blog, for example. With the autograph example, the piece of paper they just put their name on became a commodity the moment they did, but they don’t expect to get a cut of any profit should it be sold. Just like handing out free samples of your latest candy or cookie. So you have to give out samples.
