If you feel your stress rising, it's a good bet that you're approaching capacity in some way or another. I don’t use folders in email*. I’m a keyboarder most of the time. Find your capacity in your work and stay far away from it. I use as few systems as possible. So everything ends up in just one place. .

But when I’m stressed I wake up around 3.00am with my mind going at a hundred miles an hour and it doesn’t stop until around 5.00am. The good part of waking up then is that I’ll often write whole blog posts or emails in my head, and they’re generally quite good. The older you are, the less you tend to need it.

Sure, it’s great to hit the snooze button and give yourself an extra hour of R&R once in awhile, but before you know it, you’re getting up at noon and puttering around before you answer your customer emails. People who spend excessive amounts of time alone tend to suffer from anxiety, stress, and even memory loss. Great post.
