It’s such a shame that there aren’t more managers who are good mentors that help each individual grow and learn more in their roles. You also have more negotiating leverage for a better salary and projects. Email them saying you’d love 2-3 sentences if they feel comfortable commenting on how you did x, y, z on the _ project.

I would like to email her after they meet to let her know I am interested in the role. To email her expressing my interest and why I would be great in the role? Any time you interview where this situation occurs you are allowed to ask very politely. Ask polite questions, know yourself, interview them as well.
