I enjoyed having a full QWERTY keyboard without all of the keys, in such compact form factor. That meant it had to replace my notebook computer on many fronts, such as provide an alternate path to social networking, email, note-taking, Google Apps, music, video, and some tangentially interesting games.

A few weeks ago I ordered my new MacBook Pro and I wanted a German keyboard, of cause I could not order a German keyboard, you can order a French keyboard? This time a friendly guy in my Apple Store told me I could pay $200/£100 extra and they would change the keyboard in store for me. installed not OS 10.5.

You bashed monsters by hitting keys on your keyboard whilst wondering if you could hook up a nodding bird à la Homer Simpson. You’d lose a crucial part of your life (and your income, if your writing forms all or part of your paid work). Writing is a form of communication, and there’s a person on the receiving end.

Maybe it’s a form of burnout? When we write in almost a free form and just let it flow, I find that some of our best work is produced. I maximize those as much as I can, and when they strike, I get myself to a keyboard. I think it’s a good idea to step away from the keyboard and take a break. Reply Go ahead.

His emails are usually brief, casual, and mention something like, “Have a nice weekend,” or “Hope everything’s good with you.” So it was weird to get an email that was so stilted and formal that it sounded like it was written by the Queen of England’s chamberlain to someone she was too polite to outright call a waste of space.
