  We do a lot of work with different clients to help them develop systems that allow them to be paperless.    Start with something like electronic faxes.    We use a service that allows a person to fax to a phone number, but rather than a physical fax coming out on our end, it lands in our email in-boxes.

Reduce paper use by emailing when possible. A combo fax machine, printer, photocopier and scanner uses less energy. Use VoIP for phone calls as it’s cheaper. Install solar panels on the roof for renewable heating and electricity. Only fill the kettle with as much water that you need. Buy reusable filters for the coffee machine.

Then I have my faxes set up as green. Now you have a new prioritization system set up. For example, I receive an e-mail from my direct supervisor. This will show up in red, since I know I have to get to this one first, before I can even touch any other one. Repeat steps 1 - 2 for each person that you want to create a different color.
