Turn off the phone while working and don’t answer every call. Let the answering machine pick up the phone and focus on getting that work out of the way. Cut out anything that isn’t critical to your business survival for two full weeks – blog commenting, RSS reading, social media, IM chats and emailing friends.

I’ve happily signed up for all kinds of email lists. I recently had a discussion via email with someone regarding the CAN-Spam Act (US) and Anti-Spam Act (Australia). In the US it’s legal to sign someone up to your email list without asking their permission. They could have asked. I have a crazy-busy RSS feed.

That means possibly posting something to your blog, sending out a press release, tweeting a public notice or emailing clients. My phone plressed the return key and it submitted. I think that was also the day when I started to use my app as an excuse for not going out or as a standard answer at the phone. I also added a Help and FAQ section. Felt somehow special and fancy, mainly because of the name of the new framework: Quartz Core. No more arguing or negotiating, I just started to code it. Loads of bugs.
