We both had similar skills, education, etc. The only thing that helped me get the job was sending the Thank You letter.

I logged onto my computer last week and put in my network password, then to open my Outlook account I had to put another password in for that. If someone scans your computer or network for that word, they'll find your file right off. Lets enjoy our day together.© August 03, 2010 Jolene said.

This is where an assistant network can come in handy. I often reach out to my network to get answers to problems that come up at the office or just to lend a sympathetic ear. When you leave a job, you dont have to leave your network behind. Having the opportunity to hash it out with another assistant is a great resource.

There are many teachers in my extended family and it seemed like something I could do well, but our family did not have any money to further my education and I became a secretary instead. My opinions are based on experience, education, trial and error and blunders and bloopers made throughout my life and career.

She saw the importance of this training to help her daughter know the workings of an office from the bottom up and the office benefitted from her educational training. The administrative position can be a springboard for a management position if you want to go in that direction and have the right educational background.
