It has been really interesting reading all of the different job descriptions, the skills that are required and the salaries attached to different levels of the role. I definitely felt in certain roles that I was over qualified. The first thing I noticed is that most of the positions are fairly similar.

If you are expected to know about a specific industry or style of management then yes a degree would be necessary – but in most cases you only need to know what your direct support wants you to know and you can only learn that on the job from them. No, its not necessary but in my case it definitely helped fast track me.
