If it’s not too late, sit down with your boss and try to get a sense of their goal. In the beginning, it’s best to start on the course they asked you and to then offer suggestions if they will help out your boss first and foremost later (not just make things less of a hassle for you). Here are my suggestions for you.

My ultimate goal is to grow, evolve and become brilliantly better. If I am avoiding rejection then I am in conflict with my goal. It helps to step back and ask yourself what your goal is and if you’re moving away from it with the actions you take every day. I’ve learned that resisting or hiding from rejection is useless.
