I enjoyed having a full QWERTY keyboard without all of the keys, in such compact form factor. However, neither the HTC myTouch nor the Samsung Behold 2 have a keyboard. A keyboard is a necessity for me, especially given that I have big thumbs and I like the tactile feel of keys. These were all multi-touch devices.

Maybe it’s a form of burnout? The process feels herky jerky, and I don’t get that surge of feeling right before I hit publish. It’s a process that takes time to work through and eventually the hope is we’re the better for it. I think it’s a good idea to step away from the keyboard and take a break.

Now, when I say ‘don’t write’, I don’t mean you should take a break or get away from the keyboard for a day. It’s called sub-vocalization, which is a natural brain process we use while we read. That’s just common sense, and you should already be taking frequent breaks. Extra reader win.

And then your only task will be to keep it that way, so that you never have to go through that crazy process of starting from scratch again. It would be much easier to keyboard it but I know it wouldn’t have the same effect as writing it by hand. I do feel much more comfortable with a keyboard than hand though.
