The main reason I started my business in the first place (way back in November 2001) was so that I could have a flexible schedule – I had two young children at the time and needed to have a very flexible schedule that would allow me to be around for them, particularly during school holidays. A good people leader is always willing to mentor and assist their team members. Your team members will be grateful for your confidence in their ability and you’ll free up valuable time for other duties. Set boundaries. However, being too accessible can distract you from completing your own duties in a reasonable timeframe. Get support.
