Sometimes a new person will want to contribute to the team and show their new employer that they have initiative so they will dive into something that they dont have quite enough information about yet. I always feel more confident when a new hire asks me a question and gets all the information before proceeding.

From writing that article I had confidence to take a job that required me taking minutes and it has turned out fine. I will not say I am the perfect minute taker, but it is something I now have confidence in doing. Being able to do that becomes helpful when you need to know the information for your job or some life experience.

I can interact where I am now, but I have to get up and go if I want to speak with someone and then when I get there I may find they are busy or on the phone so I have wasted my time. I am good at some things, but not as confident in other things. Too much information. Of course there is a down side to being able to do that.

Have that information so you can be a problem solver, not just standing around wondering what to do along with everyone else. My former boss gave me an excellent reference on paper and by phone. Be selective and go for the job that is the right fit and that you have confidence you can do. Too much information.

Other Tasks: If you need to set yourself a Task further to a phone call request or just to set a reminder to do something at a future date, highlight the Tasks folder by clicking on it once and from your Outlook Toolbar press New and it will open a Task for you and you can then proceed as above to set your dates and reminders.

It also eases your bosss mind when they see you write it down, it gives them confidence it will be taken care of. Is it for your information or something to put in your tasks to do later? Sometimes e-mail is not the best way to communicate and it needs to be followed up by a phone call or face-to-face short meeting.

They can listen to phone calls. They’ve learned the ones that they want and they just want to answer the phones on a day–to–day basis. And we have internal up-training and there’s so much you know, things change here all the time so they’re constantly having to absorb information. And it comes through in the phone call.
