Below are some things that I have found helpful to build my network: Join a professional association such as the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). Read professional magazines when you get the opportunity. IAAP has a magazine that comes with being a member called OfficePro and it has very useful articles.

Marketing material is stripped of sales language, and the info becomes a blog post, which becomes a podcast, which becomes the soundtrack to a video made from PowerPoint slides which becomes a YouTube video which becomes content for the website. Love to see the light bulbs go on when they "get" this concept! Use everything you can.

I’ve attended numerous seminars in leadership, time management, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, meeting planning, event planning, and disaster recovery planning (Joan Eisendot and her website are fantastic resources) as well as is Tyler Davidson at Meetings Focus magazine/website, and freely shared the knowledge with my peers and anyone who asked.
