DON’T have low self-esteem. My advice to jobseekers in general: Research the company and then present yourself as the *missing* member of the team! Most companies ask for a wish list but will look beyond that for a candidate they think is suitable. Flip the coin and look at what the company ISN’T about.

Especially when you’re inexperienced, self-esteem issues come into play – having people you respect say that you’re doing something right. One on one consulting, seminars, meet ups are difficult to copy and expensive to hold. The first ebook is expensive to produce but that is a fixed cost, not marginal cost.

It was free because it was idle; it wasn’t supposed to be the sort of business expertise that many companies would shell out good money for in the form of a consultant. We have to consider that additional expense when we work out how much we’ll charge for our freelance services. We are our own employees.
