However, even after taking many classes on the various programs I still haven’t gotten any new tasks. How do I get a recommendation letter from my boss for a new job hunt without raising suspicion or improve my situation without my boss’ help? Progressive work experience is always a smart goal.

I knew I didn’t want to job hunt for more than 6-9 months if I didn’t have to. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. So I read a lot about happiness, job hunting, and a meaningful life. I’m not sure how your job hunting experience was.

The point of the above exercise is to figure out if the solution is something that can be fixed with a little action/daily maintenance (go on vacation, take better care of yourself, respectively) or will take long term planning and goals/strategy (move closer to family or save enough money to travel for a year).

Sign up with the major job hunting sites with your resume and profile, join social network sites geared towards work, and meet with every temp agency in town just to be safe. From what I've heard, the assistants did leave with class and their dignity intact. Branding yourself well and maintaining your presence is the key.

And I do understand that money does not buy happiness, etc etc, but we do heroes, mentors and models of good behavior.
