Offer to do a free class or workshop at your local library, women’s business network, or community center, and send press releases to local papers, radio, television, and local business newsletters, such as those sent out by the chamber of commerce. Get to know the managers or owners of these businesses.

Just this: If you are trying to give yourself a shortcut by not asking for your clients’ permission before you sign them up for your sales list, newsletter, or any other form of unsolicited information, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. Just makes me wonder why they run their businesses this way. It’s easier, yes.

I take my best content and turn it into workshops and allow people to play with and I hope learn from the ideas. I also can use the recording to make a cd and give to potential clients or current clients instead of a business card or brochure. Some of those become blog posts, newsletter articles, parts of books.
