I work for a magazine and we hire freelancers for all sorts of reasons. Think of it this way: You can only do so much and getting a helping hand will get those extra tasks completed when the need to be completed – on time and right the first time. You only have to hire a freelancer for the jobs that need urgent attention.

I also can use the recording to make a cd and give to potential clients or current clients instead of a business card or brochure. 6) 1 podcast + 1 pdf of the article = 1 product. Or consider incorporating it in Google Adwords campaigns, driving people to a landing page with your content.

When their readers don’t actually know what they do, because they never visit the site, they simply open Google Reader or their email for the RSS feed. As of now, my website is more like a business card – something I can point prospective clients towards after I’ve already made initial contact.
