Today the UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt presented his Spring Budget to the House of Commons. However, we are concerned that the budget as it stands does not offer enough funding to realise the promise of a fully supported system from 9 months to 4 years old.

The total budget of the project is around €105 million, with construction costs of the museum not to exceed €70 million (price level Sept 2023). At the end of Stage 1 of the competition, 3–5 entries will be selected to progress to Stage 2, where concepts will be developed into viable proposals.

Sustainability certainly hasn’t been a priority for assistants organising events, particularly as we often have to manage events alongside our actual day job and the budgets we have to spend on events are still quite a bit smaller than they were a few years ago. Reduce your waste and reduce the budget for next year. Think ahead.
