Some assistants regularly manage small budgets when planning functions or have bookkeeping responsibilities and work regularly on spreadsheets. They each had forward-thinking employers who allowed them to have vision and encouraged them to work towards their goal and made room for that new role within their organization.

Some of the surveys were particularly repetitious; some asked for information I would probably not reveal to my accountant, but a few were succinctly designed to garner results and asked questions relevant to specific goals for specific companies. The company has to think about the reason for the survey. Could it be?

Inform employees about goals, activities, and plans using newsletters or at the very least, use memos. The last few years have been a time for slashed training budgets. Often they are the ones on the front lines, and isn’t that a good indicator of what needs to be heard? Have focus groups; consider an employee survey.
