How can your product be presented or used differently by the consumer even if it is very similar to competitor offerings? If your budget is too limited to offer competitive salaries, what other perks do you offer ? As a personal example, I had a client who offered two night classes with equal marketing budgets.

My job was to write press releases about the plays we were presenting which included classics by Chekhov, Shakespeare, and Williams and musicals by Kander and Ebb. Be Present. This includes salary but also having the contents of a hotel mini-bar removed and some of the excess furniture too. Be here now. Don’t change a word.

Do the research on your salary. Given a choice, advocate for salary versus hourly compensation. Be present in your manager’s email signature. This sends a powerful message to the recipients of your executive’s emails. Keep their emails telling you how amazing you are and thanking you for your hard work.
