I often picture him sitting at his desk surrounded by books and papers in front of him, on the table behind and stuffed into the bookshelves next to him. The box of staples was in with the checks and greeting cards, not near the stapler, because there wasn’t room in that drawer. My dad was a big time piler who was also organized.

When I'm done with different things (income & expenses), I make sure to update my spreadsheet right away. Remember when card readers were large, complicated, and expensive? I can add as many keywords as I want for all items, whether it be paper files, books, CDs, or anything else in office and home.

The tool allows us to know where the business stands at-a-glance, view client data, track sales and expenses, create and manage invoices/purchase orders as well as see industry trends. We use it to track the paperwork for my special needs daughter, articles, books, websites, etc. It houses so much more than a file index.
