I used to work for a company that didn’t have an online system for expenses (loads of companies have yet to invest in this) so I would put off doing expenses because it involved spreadsheets, photocopying receipts then photocopying the spreadsheet and lots and lots of stapling… urgh. Learn to say no. I hated it.

Be willing to learn a lot, wear a lot of hats, not complain, and follow their lead. Learn to walk the fine line of having initiative but not stepping on anyone’s toes. Having the extra set of supplies for them makes it so much easier for them to do any final stapling or leaving notes for my executive. You can just write “Thx!”

Only file things in your workspace if you know you are going to refer back them. Get rid of trash, file (or toss) documents, and straighten your tools before you call it quits. If it’s actually been a week since you needed to staple something, why is that stapler still next to your phone? Thank You! ~
