Just this: If you are trying to give yourself a shortcut by not asking for your clients’ permission before you sign them up for your sales list, newsletter, or any other form of unsolicited information, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. It’s more effective to network with your clients and build a personal relationship.

You’ve heard me say this before, but you really do need a single system that you can use for your broadcasts (newsletter), autoresponders (follow up), shopping cart, affiliate management, and contact database. The fancy, all-singing-all-dancing, website can come later (and I recommend a WordPress blog rather than a static website).

I even heard from a blogger the other day that he would never guest post on a blog unrelated to his own because it wouldn’t get him any traffic and that it was a waste of effort. Then find 3 or 4 blogs for each of those niches. Connect with the blog owners and other readers. It’s very one-dimensional. What a twit.

So, recycle those papers you have written and turn them into your next blog or book! To begin, write a very detailed blog with several parts to it. So a story in an Active Rain Blog has parts linked to parts of a Wordpress Blog and a another part included in the content of your website linking to parts of a facebook content.
