I wrote a blog on this issue a few months ago which looked at how assistants can get over their initial nerves and go to a conference or trade show, you can find that here. I thought I would follow my own advice at IMEX and go along knowing that I had something to talk to people about… which is this blog! It was everywhere!

I grew up in a different age where working hard and being humble were par for the course for the PA. It is imperative to be proactive about self-promotion in order to showcase your skills, achievements and personal brand. Getting buy-in IS ACHIEVABLE and I managed to successfully get the following approved: Business Cards.

This is what I did: I used social media to promote the event and my attendance at it. They were to meet with the assistants that read my blog and put some faces to names. This meant that I had studied the programme before hand and I had looked at who was exhibiting and what products would benefit my company and the readers of my blog.
