Manage: Try scheduling e-mail checks every two hours to minimize time spent with the e-mail account open. Managing messages in bulk, but still in a consistent fashion, can help save time. If you don’t have e-mail folders, create some and sort messages as they are received. Doing too many things can actually waste time.

Sometimes I wish I had something to warn me when I am with someone with a cell phone so I can know that we are going to be interrupted. I find it frustrating when people either text while in a conversation or are constantly taking phone calls. Apparently not, when its by phone. A person I know does this all the time.

What I learned very quickly was that I had to finish one room at a time. Prioritize the tasks you need to do for the day/week/month and then do them one item at a time. Sometimes you are just not sure what is sapping up your time and I have found a time log will help you determine where you are going astray.

How many times I have booked a meeting thinking the day was free, only to notice later that an all-day event was put in unnoticed at the top. Be protective of your boss’s time. Be professional on the phone and greet people who come calling, but not everyone needs to get in to see the boss. Be very selective and guard their time. Try to eat healthy , and please make some time for exercise. My company has a cafeteria which is also very dangerous to the waist line. I make time every day to either go to Curves or go for a walk.
