I would also volunteer at work and socialize with my co-workers during the holiday gift wrapping parties. I started this blog while temping/job hunting and I was allowed to write or do personal side projects as long as it was not interfering with my work. I learned I need a vacation ASAP. I mentored other younger assistants.
