I wrote an article awhile back called On the Outside Looking In. If you know what works best for you and if your job is 80/20 on what you like then you can put up with the small stuff like filing and filling out expense forms. I have never regretted any of my employment situations. I keep looking forward to new experiences.

Make sure that tasks directly associated with clients come first, consider the financial impact of a project and its completion date on the company, don’t let deadlines control the priority list (expense reports can wait when there are more important tasks), and consider cause and effect (do A to enable B, which accomplishes C).

I thought this article was really well written. Didn't have any of the usual bias of Gen Y that these articles usually do. This article is good, and I have mixed feelings about this topic. Articles of this genre make me slightly nauseous. Dear Anonymous, First, I have to disagree that this article is biased.

Many freelancers don’t have to send their resumes to people anymore, so those degrees don’t see a lot of action, but they’re there, collecting dust on our walls. I have an upcoming series of articles on Hong Kong, which not only uses my background in Asian/Chinese history, for example. Wish I knew. So far so good I suppose.
