He will have a quick conversation with a staff member and set up a meeting, but not tell me anything about it. That makes it difficult when I am supposed to be organizing his calendar, but since I am responsible to organize his time and in spite of my frustration, I have to make it work. Dealing in real time.

What dates and times does he or she have available (keeping in mind time zones for away meetings)? Secure the date and time in his or her calendar, taking into consideration travel time if outside the office. Follow up with the meeting organizer to request agenda and/or meeting materials, pre-reading, etc.

I wrote an article called We Dont Know What We Dont Know. I think the first reason is what I put in my original article. I think Tasks is one of Outlooks best-kept secrets, but it shouldnt be and is a great way to follow up on items. I drag it to my Tasks and set a reminder so I can follow up whether the item was received.

My favourite to-do list is a calendar timeline so I can see at a glance where I am at and what I need to do to get there. It is simply using an on-line calendar with space on each day to enter what needs to be done. I feel confident as I check off each item that things will be done on time. No surprises! Choose New.
