The short term training investment will pay off in the long term. If you are an evening person and you plan last thing, make sure you are looking at the next day's agenda! Their reasons are usually not rooted in sound reasoning. Assume that most people want added responsibilities (don't you?). What Did I Miss?

Most of the time, digital friendships last as long as the underlying hidden agenda’s of both parties last. I also like to travel, that’s why I’m going to Nepal on Monday…for one month…interacting with real people. Now before I travel, I make sure I don’t cross the path of another blogger friend.

What’s funny about getting that job is that I never had any specific training for that. In a few days we completed a small training. If it’s a friendship, see if the person at the end is not having any hidden agendas which will break up the validation process at some point. I finally discovered what I had to do.

It might not provide returns in one year, or in two years, but at some point down the road, you will have an increased socio-economic profile, known to be related to improved health and well-being. We always compliment folks who travel more, and who try out new activities, because they are opening their minds up in the process.

In 1999 I was still office based, traveled from one of our offices around the world to the next and was rarely home. People look to their employers for entree into systems of social safety nets (Social Security, disability insurance, health care benefits, etc.). There are many more examples.
