In its simplest form minutes are a record of discussion, decisions and actions to be taken and the date by when it needs to be completed. Below are a few tips so the task is not as daunting: Filling in the blanks I take minutes on a laptop so it is easy to make a template ahead of time which is based on the agenda.

If you are interviewing for a sales position, prepare a sales presentation targeting one of their clients or prospects; for marketing come up with a marketing plan for them. When I receive an initial request for a meeting, I use a meeting form and write down the information I need: who is requesting the meeting, what is the purpose of the meeting, where it will be held and a phone number or an e-mail address and dates that are available.

Tame Your Email 1. Turn off email alerts when emails arrive in your inbox. If you know that you will never answer an email, delete it right away. Create email folders same as you would for word doc and paper files. Examples: If you have a full email box, then schedule an hour each morning to tackle it.

Nothing fancy, just a lot of windows, menus and forms. Sometimes validation comes in form of money. Sometimes it comes in form of emotional support. If it’s a friendship, see if the person at the end is not having any hidden agendas which will break up the validation process at some point. Rewind and start over.
