It works well when it is a co-worker who sits closest to you, but depending on how your office is set up that might not be possible. She had to set up an away voicemail message and fortunately had kept a script of what her away message usually said, She worked for a doctor so it was important that the proper referral numbers were given.

Before I left I went over my checklists a few times to make sure I had everything and it was stress free each day as I reviewed the lists and checked off the items to bring. By using the template I was able to accomplish everything with enough time to change, touch up my make up and hair and then off to the next event.

Humour is a powerful stress reliever if done in good taste, but timing is everything. I actually have fun at work, but I work hard and consider myself a professional. Since I got in at 9 and my boss was in an hour before me, I knew he had probably seen it already so decided to suck it up and just go in and ask him.

This does increase the preparation time, but on the day of the meeting it goes very smoothly with no stress. To finalize your minutes, you will just need to tidy up the language and formatting for the Chairs approval. I enjoy the preparation leading up to the meeting. Good thing to check before the meeting begins.

Making a List, Checking it Twice The Board meeting I am preparing for is a two-day event and I dont want to forget anything that I need to do leading up to it, or anything that I need on the day of. As an aside, pen and paper will suffice if I have to, but you can see that the checklist can help avoid any unnecessary stresses from happening.

I stop the flow and pick up the phone. Perhaps we put a lot of the stress on ourselves because we feel that every e-mail has to be replied to immediately. If it is urgent, pick up the phone, or visit the person, if he/she is in the same office. Keep up the good work. 411 Look Up 411.ca " Warning!
