Throughout the day our delegates had meetings with our exhibitors who represented a variety of suppliers within the travel industry. We tried really hard to create an informal environment at Assist Travel so that delegates felt comfortable chatting with the exhibitors and learning about all of the new products and services they had to offer.

Despite my passion for social media I haven’t always been adept at it and was a twitter virgin until The Assist Conference 2015. You can follow and connect with other Assistants, clients, colleagues, suppliers, brand ambassadors and influencers. Through my work it has enabled me to make great restaurant, hotel and venue contacts.

There was less sharing of information, silos in place and limited collaboration. On the day I reverted to ‘show and tell’ and picked up the annual catalogue of restaurants for both of my bosses which greatly impressed them. Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. I recently spoke at the Assist Conference in September 2015, and at Skyscanner’s Company Presentation in December to around 300 people.
