Be fun but be professional when using Social Media. But it is still worth reiterating every year that social media should be used responsibly, especially as more and more people are using the various platforms. This is an oldie but a goldie and it is still going to be the top tip for all social media users in 2015.

Anyway here we are in 2014 and I hope that everyone is settling back into work after the Christmas and New Year break. I think assistants will have an interesting 2014, particularly as it is the International Year of the Secretary and Administrative Assistant with lots planned for our professional development. I genuinely think 2014 was a turning point in our industry and I think 2015 will see a consolidation of our efforts to take our profession forward. Technology now allows individuals easier access to new opportunities and recruitment agencies are much more adapt at targeting the right candidates through social media and networking websites.
