The Polo Bar was full of locals and hotel residence and the Tsukiji Restaurant was very popular too. The Westbury is also home to a Michelin starred restaurant run by Alyn Williams. When I phoned reception to ask they informed me I would have to go to the lounge to buy a hot drink. Why book The Westbury for your boss?

The restaurants were packed, the bars were swinging; unfortunately the shops were closed but as glamorous as the residents strolling along the sidewalk. I was informed by my driver that my hotel – the Fulton Lane Inn was perfectly positioned on King Street and within walking distance of all that Charleston has to offer.

During the week the lobby is busy hosting informal meetings for the local business folk but on the weekend (I arrived late Friday afternoon) the City and the hotel are tranquil locations to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
