Anyway here we are in 2014 and I hope that everyone is settling back into work after the Christmas and New Year break. I think assistants will have an interesting 2014, particularly as it is the International Year of the Secretary and Administrative Assistant with lots planned for our professional development. The Polo Bar was full of locals and hotel residence and the Tsukiji Restaurant was very popular too. The Westbury is also home to a Michelin starred restaurant run by Alyn Williams. When I phoned reception to ask they informed me I would have to go to the lounge to buy a hot drink. Why book The Westbury for your boss?

Coming off the back of hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014 it has been an unprecedented busy couple of years; firstly preparing for one of the world’s main golfing events and then gearing up to celebrate the hotel’s milestone birthday. The restaurants were packed, the bars were swinging; unfortunately the shops were closed but as glamorous as the residents strolling along the sidewalk. I was informed by my driver that my hotel – the Fulton Lane Inn was perfectly positioned on King Street and within walking distance of all that Charleston has to offer.
