Having booked business travel to Houston more times than I can actually remember I am very aware of how little time executives have when they arrive in Houston. Most business travellers attend their meetings and leave so I always try to book my executives into a hotel that allows them to see at least a little bit of Houston.

Walking into the Lobby Bar at One Aldwych will always evoke some powerful memories but yet I have never stayed in the hotel or eaten in one of the restaurants. Tucked away in the lower levelsof the hotel, Axis at One Aldwych is a striking restaurant. The excellent service I had so far continued with the restaurant staff.

I manage his schedule and monitor his emails, as well as help organise some of his travel, company events, and client dinners, occasional research, expenses and ad hoc tasks – all the general PA duties. There are some fab vietnamese restaurants – I’m partial to a kimchi banh mi. What are the main aspects of your role?

I had a great birthday lunch with Anne at a restaurant in our inner harbour. We went on the first big family trip we’ve had without extended family as we traveled to San Diego. We agreed that the 2012 was too sweet, that the 2014 was too “hot” (boozy but not mild), and that the 2013 was just right. I turned 41.
