I close all of them by either clicking on the "X" at the top-right corner or pressing ALT-F4 (keyboard shortcut to remember - can be very useful). Once I am finished with the task, I would look at my next task on my to-do list and figure out what applications I wont need. Then I would open up the applications associated with the next task.

I have the same, plus tote around my early 2008 MBP, which still functions great after upgrades. I also love my original Zaggmate keyboard. read several blogs lately (one, two, three) that reference Byword. No need for new if the old still works for what you do. Bojan011 5pts Oh you still didnt get the iPhone 5 :( What a bummer!
