My favourite to-do list is a calendar timeline so I can see at a glance where I am at and what I need to do to get there. It is simply using an on-line calendar with space on each day to enter what needs to be done. To generate a calendar in Word 2007, click on the Office Button (in the top left-hand corner). No surprises!

Once a date is finalized I put it in my bosss calendar and confirm the meeting with the other participants. If the meeting is internal, I send a meeting request, but for external meetings I tend to just confirm with them the meeting details by phone or e-mail. Minute taking made easier. INCOMING MAIL: As with e-mail, you should read the letter to see if there are any action items for your boss (or yourself) and diarize them or put the appropriate dates in the calendar. Some organizations like you to list the attachments, i.e. Enclosure: 2008 Annual Report. MAIL LOG: Keep a log of mail that comes in and goes out.
