As of August, this year, my non-compete agreement is over and I am already involved in a few local projects. One of those projects is in fact an entrepreneurship-investors event, called Venture Connect. Basically, my job here is to screen interesting projects, to evaluate them and to make sure they meet a certain criteria.

The ultimate project management victory: I crossed off my own death today. In this respect, a project is never “finished” in ADD. The graphical representation of a project in Assess – Decide – Do will look more like a spiral than like a Gantt diagram. Projects, tasks and events will start to fall into their places.

Learning how to learn was my goal. Deadlines seem to be my best motivator and with a self-imposed structure, I’m not sure self-education would force itself into my schedule in the way that projects with due dates do. In business, although I was successful in my niche, I always had smaller projects going on, just in case. They were just boiling slowly and sometimes those projects saved me from some pretty tough cash-flow situations.

Nobody came to tell me what I have to do, they just informed me about the projects that were developed in the company and that was pretty much all. The projects were really boring, like software for assurance companies, with a lot of niche specific features, or software for managing parks or supermarkets. I was all alone in there.

I was able to finally freeze my long time postponed company products roadmap for the next 9 months, including some old, dusted projects, and to bring to alpha version a few new apps.
