I worked hard at that job and was rewarded with a promotion to Account Manager in 2006, yay! Arranging catering and dealing with external suppliers. Getting to grips with calendar and email management. The role also had some PA tasks but was mainly admin. Keeping a visible desk area clean and with a professional appearance.

If the supplier knows you are ready to buy for the right price they will cut you a deal. Promise to buy from one supplier for better payment terms, like 60 or 90 days. Getting a better price is especially easy to do right now, since suppliers are tripping over themselves to get business. Get better payment terms by negotiation.

Use a specific business calendar to keep a reminder of your schedule. Use WinWeb ’s Online Calendar and Online Document Store to cut down on physical waste. Don’t purchase containers to store more documents and files – throw away as much of your old stuff as possible instead. Be ruthless with your filing.

Look at you calendar and write next to each meeting how long it should take and stick too it. Suppliers will probably thank you for short meetings, so they too can get more done. Large corporations have often the shortest meetings at director level, while lower down in the organisation the meetings go on and on, too.

You guessed it, as soon as I had done that my new computer started having problems, no calendar or address book data anymore,then my email started going and so on – I rebooted and that was that – I could no longer log in.
