The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

This would also help with their induction process and ideally a ‘buddy cover’ or mentor could be assigned. Have a launch event to promote the PA network. By providing us with a voice there will be a significant boost in morale, motivation and confidence and a happy and content workforce will equate to increased productivity and ROI.

It sounds like things are going swimmingly with your productivity and work performance. It says a lot when your boss wants to grow you within the company and promote you. I mentored other younger assistants. I will temp and enjoy the downtime to spring clean and read for personal/intra self improvement.

Believe it or not, some assistant jobs actually prefer you have an Ivy League degree even if they ask for a career assistant or to promote them up the chain.

And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. I am not sure if those are the values that bring you the most joy - being productive and learning. This was mostly as a temp during very slow months when the entire industry was on vacation, but I’m sure the paycheck wasn’t as amazing as yours.
