The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.

This would also help with their induction process and ideally a ‘buddy cover’ or mentor could be assigned. PA retention rates will be at an all time high and this will remove company expenditure on temps. We are worth investing in – by PAs talking to each other more there will be a huge time saving for management.

It’s a grueling process to keep doing for a year or more. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. This was mostly as a temp during very slow months when the entire industry was on vacation, but I’m sure the paycheck wasn’t as amazing as yours. It also looks bad on one’s resume.
