If they prompt you to get it done right away (if this is not your immediate supervisor), make sure to let your manager know. They are there to help, since they are managing you. If you feel that your manager thinks of you this way, talk to them about it, but in a professional manner. Dont feel that you are not doing your job.

Then, you need to assign tasks to each goal, where you break the goal down into manageable chunks. Narrow them down to the amount that you can manage (usually 3 - 5), but some people can do more or less. Move all of the other tasks to the next day or time that you can tackle them. Next, add a time frame to each task.

Thats how I get things done around my office, since I work for about 30 staff, which includes 5 managers. to the president, 3 VPs, and the HR manager. I finally created an e-mail outlining what my responsibilities are and how much time it took me to accomplish them - 4 days a month! My suggestion to this is to be persistent.

The only time I would use an informal writing style would be when writing a personal e-mail to a friend that I know really well or family member (although I am sure in most cases they would prefer hearing from me, but e-mail at least makes a connection in the meantime). The only reason we have file folders within hanging file folders is that if we need to present files to a client or to a manager, we can take the entire file folder with that information to the client or manager. As a male, I have worked as a admin several times throughout my career. I found that my job transformed into a sudo management position with a great amount of responsibility. I enjoyed the position for the same reasons that you mentioned in your blog post. I never found it weird or uncomfortable.

I knew the rules option existed, but I never took the time to check it out. What I discovered is a time saver and e-mail management tool that is a best-kept secret. Sometimes taking the time is the biggest hurdle, but this one is well worth the effort. You will notice your Inbox will be less crowded and easier to manage.
