Internal e-mails amongst co-workers should have a business tone to it as well, although less formal. I also learned at a "Working Smarter with Microsoft Outlook" seminar that we should not use e-mails as urgent requests. Anyway, it taught me to re-read, more than once if necessary, an e-mail that I think is negative.
