If you can prove yourself as a good worker you can go up through the ranks and because they already know how you work, they are more apt to promote you. If a more experienced assistant comes alongside you and provides mentoring - dont refuse it. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday.

Successful executives are rarely lazy and slow if they earned their title from being promoted through hard work and not nepotism, etc. Can you work on weekends and/or holidays?
